LADIES --AVOID ! I wanted a wrap to go with the almost $1,000 dress I purchased from this shop, but the owner herself wanted the money upfront before I could even see the wrap. When I suggested that if I didn't like it, she could put it in her shop to sell, her response was : "I would NEVER have a plus sized wrap in my shop." I was mortified to be discriminated against. Thankfully, another shop in Cardiff provided excellent customer service, a beautiful wrap, and my wedding was gorgeous. My experience with the Allison Jayne has taught me one thing : Money cannot buy CLASS.

Not the experience I was hoping for; delay on my dress arriving in store, no face to face appointment with the seamstress (very amateur). I had to go elsewhere for another seamstress to correct some of the alterations that were made .Found overall service rather chaotic. A shop that was once probably known as the best in Cardiff…not any more! Best avoid.

Please anyone thinking of going to this shop then please be aware that all they care about is getting money from you. I went along to look for a dress and I only had my nine year old daughter with me. They give me such a hard sale that I felt so intimated that I ended up buying a dress for £1485 even though I wasn't convinced I liked it. They told me I wasn't allowed to take a picture of the dress or even have time to think about it and I had to pay 80% (£1141.50) of the dress there and then and being on my own I felt I was left with no choice. I knew the dress wasn't right for me but they did nothing to help me. When I was finally allowed to see the dress some months later I just burst into tears as I knew I'd made a massive mistake and the manager just handed me a box of tissues and said you've got 10 minutes as I need to be in Swansea. I had to pay the reminder balance of the dress even though I hated it. They did say they would try and sell it on but they done absolutely nothing to help me and when someone who had seen the dress on ebay contacted the shop they where told they weren't allowed to go and try the dress on (despite me saying i would take full responsibility for any damage to the dress) and that I would have to go and collect the dress from the shop as they were no long prepared to hold it there. So £1485 later with a dress I hate the shop is refusing to even allow me to keep the dress in the shop. All they care about is getting "the Sale" despite whether the dress is right for you or not. I did have a completely different experience when I went to Laura May - nothing was too much trouble and it was more important to them that I found a dress I loved rather than it being all about the money. Please only go to this shop if you take someone else with you and don't be pressured into buying something you're not 100% sure about. All the care about is the sale not the customer. Proceed with caution

My experience with the team at Allison Jayne is excellent, I made an initial appointment with only 12 weeks prior to the wedding. During that first visit I was unsure of what I was looking for, the girls helped tremendously offering and suggesting various styles and designers who could provide a dress in the tight timescale available. They were very helpful offering guidance in a very courteous manner, so much so they assisted finding my dress within a short amount of time being in the shop.
The dress arrived within the timescale and with ample time for the fitting to be carried out.
I can't thank the girls enough, they made the dress search much easier and enjoyable.
They provided a very personal service.

Called to book an appointment and they requested a £20 deposit for the booking, NON-REFUNDABLE. Girl on the phone said that the cost would be deducted from the dress, I asked but what if I didn't like a dress, she said you will get store credit instead!

I've been to bridal shops where they refund the money when you show up for your appointment, but never have I sen a shop which swipes £20 off you for not even buying anything!

Very poor - You've lost a potential customer there.
