I started to sew 9 months ago with a beginners class at Venn School of Sewing in Canton, Cardiff. I caught the bug straight away. The tutor, Angela gave me so much confidence, I left knowing that I was going to pursue this hobby. It's so practical! I have completed a few day courses including sewing foundation where I made may self a fleece! Couldn't get over that I could make a garment in a few hours. I then completed the 10 week skills and techniques to build a file of samples before I moved into dressmaking. I've now finished and have a fabulous coat. Not many people knew that I was taking lessons and my coat had inspired them to rekindle their interest and I think that the Great British Sewing Bee is going to do the same to the rest of the nation. Get booking classes...it's well worth it. (They fill up quickly). I also did renting a workstation very handy (anther service Venn offers at £3 per hour) as it saves so muh time having to pull everything out and pack away...and you get some peace to work! Can't stop sewing!!!!!
